About Us

We Are The Northern Alberta Chapter of The Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA).

WDANA helps to promote western dressage in Canada by raising awareness of what western dressage can do for you and your equine partner through a classical training scale.

Definition of the word Dressage...

from the French word dresser - which means to 'train' .  The art of riding and training a horse in a manner that develops obedience, flexibility, and balance.

The Pyramid of Training

Western Dressage is about learning an age old process of training for your equine partner and how you can improve yourself and your horse with a progressive system.

“a systematic and progressive system of training for the western horse and rider in traditional stock tack with the purpose of enjoying a safe, pleasurable, versatile, and useful working horse.”
